PICKWICK LANDING STATE PARK

This is a great destination if you're looking to relax by the water. It is a great place to explore in the hot summer months or watch a sunset in the spring or fall. The lake and rivers offer swimming, boating, fishing, and a marina. As well as water activities, you can enjoy picnicking, tennis, nature walks, golf, and disc golf. It is an ideal location for the whole family. Just 10 minutes from Botel Campground, it makes staying with us an ideal location if you're looking to experience this area.

The lake is most known for great fishing. Tennessee River Catfish, Smallmouth Bass, Bluegill, Crappie, and more. There are fishing competitions year-round and depending on the season and type of fish being caught. It is the home of the Catfish World Championship Fishing Tournament as well as the Sauger Fishing Tournament.

We usually just go for the day but we always have a great time. Kids absolutely love it there! Great place to have the "beach experience" without the long drive. It's always clean when we have gone and has bathrooms located close by for convenience. They have a few picnic tables that have grills next to them for those wanting to grill out. Go early if you want a table spot, though bc each time we have ever been there tends to be quite a few people there....most with their families and kids. I would definitely recommend this place for a fun, relaxed mini getaway!

Family came here when I was a kid and now we bring my kid. Night kayaking tour with Ranger Tim was a highlight this year! Love the sunsets at the lake and the hiking trails. Dog friendly cabin is a bonus. We always do the frisbee golf course once.
